2023 ANNUAL NATIVE PLANT SALE

The Northern Neck Chapter of the Virginia Native Plant Society (NNVNPS) is holding our Annual Native Plant from Friday, Sept. 15 through Saturday, Sept. 23 at Dug In Farm in White Stone, Virginia.

The sale begins for members only on Friday, Sept. 15 from 2pm to 5pm, with helpful member advice onsite.  Come & enjoy this member perk and get first choice.

If not a member, please join online at here to take advantage of the first-choice afternoon for members.

Although the sale will continue through Saturday, Sept. 23 whenever Dug In Farm is open, Wed-Sun, 9am-5pm, helpful VNPS volunteers will be available to assist on Saturday, Sept. 16 and 23 from 9am to noon.  Aside from expert advice on picking the perfect plants for your garden, our Chapter’s free Guide “Native Plants of the Northern Neck” (new 2022 Revised Third Edition) and other free materials will be available on those two Saturdays.  The sale will feature over 1,000 plants, all of which are Virginia natives with 90% of them native to the Coastal Plain of Virginia including the Northern Neck and Middle Peninsula. It is one of the few sources of native plants in the area, although Dug In Farms has been offering a wonderful variety of Virginia native plants for the past four years at their nursery.

“This is a wonderful partnership between the Chapter and Dug In and is a spectacular venue for our native plant sale”, said Betsy Washington, botanist and NNVNPS President. “Our Chapter raises money through this plant sale to hold a number of educational events including field trips to various native plant venues, native plant presentations by experts (in person and by Zoom), sponsorship to nature camps for children, a $1,000 college scholarship for an environmentally oriented student and our free Guide to Native Plants of the Northern Neck. The native plants offered for sale have been raised by a dedicated and experienced group of members.”
